College Baseball New England

A difficult loss
It is with sadness that College Baseball New England notes the passing away of Dick Clegg. The long-time college and summer league umpire from Marstons Mills on Cape Cod, passed away on Dec. 30.

Clegg was about to embark on his second year as chief umpire of the Cape Cod League. He also umpired in the Boston Park League and was one of the nicest umpires to grace game.

His son Rich was a standout infielder for Eastern Conn., earning numerous honors in the early '90's.
