 | Fourth Estate Game Summary at MWRA June 14
Weak-hitting Estate flushed by MWRA With three one-two-three innings and a few well-timed errors, the Fourth Estate was flushed by the MWRA Wednesday, 14-5.
The Estate looked game-ready in the top of the first, pushing over three runs. It went downhill from there.
FE gave up four runs in the bottom of the inning with an error-fueled MWRA rally, and after a quick at-bat in the second gave up four more in the bottom of the inning. The lack of hitting sealed the Fourth Estate's fate at that point.
Standing out in the mire was Steven Kaye, who went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, and newcomer Justin Pope teamed with outgoing Eileen Flynn on a nice 10-4 put-out on a base hit.
The loss buries the Fourth Estate at 2-5 on the season, and leaves the squad without a good effort over the last month. The writers go at it again next Wednesday, taking on league power Senators. It will be the Estate's first home game in over a month. Batting Summary
