Miscellaneous: After a full season of arbitration with the Slugger front office, "O" Kay Jones has finally signed a contract. This one- year deal is riddled with incentive clauses to get her to show up to a regular season game. One clause states that Jones will automatically receive a two-year extension if she leads the team in extra-base hits at the All-Star break.
Jones has been training in a AA team for three years. After leading the league in RBI and on-base percentage, the Sluggers finally called her up from the minors.
"We're looking for Jones to really shine in this, her rookie season," Coach Tony said.
"I'm just hoping for a big endorsement contract with Dan Electro," Jones said. "They make really groovy, cheap guitars. I want to be a role model to all the young, rocker, softball players out there. I want them to look at me and see that you can attain your dreams. Just work hard, chase your dreams like a hard fly-ball, and never give up until the umpire calls the game."
