Biggest Fan: None yet
Arch Nemesis: softball contract incentives
Years Pro: 5
Likes: horses, cats, travelling, jazz, Italian food, Belgian chocolate, New York City, Berlin (the city, not Irving), and Cape Town, and striking out the side.
Dislikes: Batters with small strike zones, games that start too early, umpires that are sticklers for high arcs, and dog fanatics.
Favorite Quote: "The life I was living was not worth living, so I changed."--Don Juan
Life-long Goal: to fly airplanes, be a famous artist, and win the pennant
Miscellaneous: After six years of retirement, Whittemore has decided to slip on the cleats again and take the mound. This couldn't have come at a better time because three of the Sluggers' pitchers signed dual contracts during the off-season, posing problems for the StayWell bullpen.
"We're looking to Whittemore to take a leadership role in the bullpen," Coach Tony said in a recent interview. "Free agency has really hurt this league."
"I'm honored to have this opportunity to contribute," added Whittemore. "I just want to do what's best for the team. We'll take it one day at a time, and the good lord willing, things will work out."
Because she was retired for six years, StayWell is starting her out with a one-year contract to see if she still has the stuff.
